Mexico!

MEXICO!!  Allen and I snuck away on a trip to Cancun, JUST. THE. TWO. OF. US!!
It was the best. A whole week with the guy of my dreams in Mexico at the beach.
On the airplane, about to take off.

Our hotel lobby :)

We decided we should take a "how to make towel animals" class...
Why not!?!

It was really fun! And we did pretty good (much better than the drunk lady in the class...it was 10am)

Enjoying the scenery ;)

The food was delicious!  Our favorites were the French restaurant, Mexican, and the Japanese Hibachi restaurant.
YUM!

Allen enjoyed the daily sports competitions.
Volleyball, soccer, water polo, and more volleyball.

I enjoyed cheering him on from my beach chair with my Mango Margarita!
It was the amazing.

Poolside reading :)

Our cool beach storm!

These macaroons were so yummy!

Heading home....

This was such a great trip.
Some highlights....
All inclusive food
Mango Margaritas
Walks on the beach
Sleeping in
Trying to watch our Spider man movie :)
The SUN!
Napping at the pool
Hot chocolate at the pool
Going to Tulum (the beach was amazing)
Going to Escaret and tubing/snorkeling down the river
Reading a whole book on vacation
The British family that was super competitive with Allen at the daily sports hour :)
Kayaking in the ocean
Our snorkel trip

But most of all...
Realizing that after 7 days together, just the two of us, he is still my favorite person to be with and my best friend.
This was an incredible trip. I am so grateful that we were able to go and spend the time together and have an adventure.  Thanks so much Mom & Dad and Rachel & Paul for taking such good care of the kids, we could of never went if you were not willing to love on our kids while we were gone!
Ahhh, a trip to remember.

Girls 1st day of school

These girls are off to 5th and 2nd grade.  They are so excited and I am having a hard time realizing that summer break is really over.

Sweet girl....off she goes.
I can't believe that this is her last year in elementary school.  We are going to soak up every day!

I love these girls.  I love that they love school.  And I love that they have each other.
I just wish we could all be together every day, all day.

Water world

Our good friends Jeremy and Lauren and their kids were back in town visiting so we decided that Porter could miss his first Friday of school and we headed to Waterworld!  We had so much fun, it was totally worth it. It was a beautiful day....until the rain and lightning closed the park early.
This is a picture of all of the kids huddled out of the rain.
But we got free tickets to come back next year!

Porter 1st day of school

And he's off!  To his first day of his last year of middle school.  We had a great time this summer and I am really sad to send him off for the day.

We will all be waiting for you to get home!

Back to school dinner 2014

It was that time again, for the Welch Family Back to School Dinner!
Porter 8th grade
Sidney 5th grade
Rylee 2nd grade
Jax....home with Mom :)
Invitations were sent out, everyone arrived dressed nicely and with their best manners.
Our theme for this school year is "Be your BEST self".

I love this tradition.  I can't believe that it is already time to get ready for another school year!  They each had a sweet Fathers blessing and now I feel like we have done everything we could to get them ready.  Last year of Middle school for Porter and last year of elementary for Sidney.
Ready or not....

Rylee turns 7!

This sweet girl is SEVEN!

She had a great day!  We opened presents and went to "Pirates Cove" water park.  It was really fun (and crowded) but mostly really fun!
She requested Red Robin for dinner with Grandma & Grandpa :)
And loved it when they sang Happy Birthday to her.

Love these sweet sisters!

Loving her very own birthday cake!
SEVEN things I love about Rylee...
1. She is usually happy and has a big smile.
2. She is always excited about whatever is coming up next.
3. She loves her family, and she is great at telling each of us.
4. She loves school and her teachers.
5. She is a great friend.  She is kind and always knows when someone is feeling sad.
6. She gives me a hug and a kiss before I leave the house every time.
7. She is fun. She can get anyone excited about anything.
Happy Birthday, sweet Rylee girl!

Catch up

After changing to his big boy bed he has had some nights where we find him asleep in random places...behind his door, on top of his toy box, on the side of his bed, and in the hallway.  He doesn't cry, he just curls up somewhere.
Loving this rainbow.
I was able to spend the weekend with these kids for youth conference.  We learned about family history and had a great time!
