Its great to be eight! Sidney's baptism

This beautiful girl who just turned 8 has decided to get baptized.
Our dear friend took these pictures of her in her special white dress.
I love them.
I love that each one captures a piece of her personality and excitement.
I want to remember everything about her at this age.

Allen and Sidney right before her baptism.  So great to see them together all dressed in white.  She is a lucky girl to have such a great dad.
I made Sidney's dress that she was baptized in.  It was a tender experience for me to spend time making something special for Sidney.
A few things that I want Sidney to remember about her baptism are....
We woke up that morning to the first snow of the season.  3 inches of fresh white snow.  Everything was white, just like Sidney in her dress.  We felt like that was a sweet reminder to Sidney on her special day of cleanliness and purity.  Sidney thought that was really neat.
So many people came to support and show their love for her.  Family, friends, ward members, home teachers, primary teachers, and the bishopric.
Everyone was so excited for her.  She received some very special gifts.
Grandma and Grandpa gave her a set of her own scriptures with her name on them.
We gave her a scripture bag, necklace, and journal. She also got a picture of Jesus from Jean, scripture markers from Rachel & Paul, and a bracelet from Maxine.
Grandpa and Grandma Welch sent her a necklace and a beautiful figurine to remind her of her special day.
Her sweet friends gave her scripture pencils, a bracelet, candy, a notebook, pens, a picture, and a beautiful bag of items that will remind her of each part of baptism and the Holy Ghost.
We are so proud of Sidney and of her choice to be baptized.  Many thanks to everyone who made her day so special!
